Maintenance Committee

The Maintenance Committee is a group of Users that keep the Wiki clean, aka eliminating red links, categorizing, expanding stubs, uploading needed images, making navigation templates, etc. Anybody can join the committee, and this will help your chance of getting promoted. However, any Maintenance Committee member that goes for a week or more without editing will be removed from the list.

The committee also has an official, public thread on the forum where anybody can post suggestions, any work that has been completed, etc.

Fiction Rating Committee

The Fiction Rating Committee is a group of users that rate fanfiction using {{ratefiction}}. Sign-up for the committee is limited to 5 people (as of now; not including Sysops or Patrollers, nor the Director of the Improvement Drive), and only members of the committee can use the template. The purpose of reviewing fiction is to help the writer improve the next issue or chapter of their story. The following aspects of fiction are rated on a 4-point scale (3 meaning without flaw, 2 meaning good, 1 meaning bad, and 0 being horrible):

  • Content – Was the content of the fiction tasteful? Was it well-written and appropriate for its audience?
  • Depth – Did the story go in to detail? Was it enough to keep you drawn in?
  • Grammar – Could you actually read the fiction without running into spelling, grammatical, sentence structural, or other grammatical errors?
  • Organization – Was the fiction organized well? Was it too choppy, or was it like a wall of text?

There are also sections of the template reserved for comments as to why you gave such scores, and an overall rating for the fiction with a comment section summarizing your review; you must include your username and date of reviewing the fiction as well (sections on the template are provided for this as well).

The Article Quality Committee is a group of users that rate factual articles using {{ratearticle}}. Sign-up for the committee is limited to 5 people (as of now; not including Sysops or Patrollers, nor the Director of the Improvement Drive), and only members of the committee can use the template. The purpose of reviewing an article is to help the other members of the wiki know how to improve the article and to make it of better quality. The following aspects of an article are rated on a 4-point scale (3 meaning without flaw, 2 meaning good, 1 meaning bad, and 0 being horrible):

  • Accuracy – Was the content of the article truthful? Does it have appropriate sources?
  • Depth – Did the story go in to detail? Was it enough to keep you drawn in?
  • Grammar – Did the article cover the subject in detail and in completeness?
  • Images – When applicable, was there a good amount of images on the page? Could there be better quality or more images added on to the article?
  • Formatting – Was the article organized well? Was it well coded, and have a good structure of organization?

There are also sections of the template reserved for comments as to why you gave such scores, and an overall rating for the article with a comment section summarizing your review; you must include your username and date of reviewing the fiction as well (sections on the template are provided for this as well).

UProjects

UProjects are projects created by the users to carry out goals not specifically set by the Improvement Drive itself. Users may create their own projects as long as they don't make major decisions without the community's opinion, and are, for the most part, independently run by the users. UProjects must be made on Userpedia:UProjects. The term "UProjects" has two intended interpretations:

  • UProjects – Projects created to improve Userpedia.
  • UProjects – Projects created by the users.
