YellowYoshi398 is one of the Super Mario Wiki's many Users; he had the ranking of Sysop (12 August, 2007 - 29 November, 2008). He was formerly a Patroller (13 June, 2007–12 August, 2007). He is a yellow Yoshi with glasses.

History
Early Life and Joining
“I think you're going to be a cool newbie.”

YellowYoshi398's childhood is an obscure subject. YY cannot remember his early days, but it is confirmed that he was not a Super Mario Wiki User from birth. YellowYoshi398 has vague memories of playing with friends (one of which had a somewhat obscure time as a User and is still close to YellowYoshi) on a small island and remembers being surrounded by Lakitus for a long period of time awhile later, he but cannot piece together exactly how he found the MarioWiki mainland. Either way, he ended up on it at a fairly young age, and wandered in the jungles northeast of the Super Mario Wiki Border for quite some time, coming quite close to and watching the early Users work at least once, as is recorded.
As he matured, YellowYoshi was able to realize that civilization awaited him and gave much thought to leaguing with the MarioWikians. After finding an irresistable Bristle-related fact to share with the world, YY joined November 25, 2006. Not long after this, he made an article on Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time's mysterious "Star Realm"; this article is now a part of the List of Implied Locations page. (He thinks his oldest article surviving on its own is Aurora Block, an article that greatly contributed to making him well-known.) Though he earned praise for his work (and gradually became especially associated with the now-monitored Implied category, which he admits to having rather messed up with speculation and ridiculous articles looking back), YellowYoshi398 was shy and, though he has more or less always used article talk pages regularly, rarely got in conversations, perhaps starting none to other Users.
Cheese Craze of '07

YellowYoshi398 continued to be rather shy (though still earned renown throughout his early days of MarioWiki membership), though this changed when Sadaharu (then HK-47) left the message of "Cheese is delicious." on his talk page. The Cheese Craze of '07 resulted, and a large handful of Users originally participated by leaving cheese-based messages on YellowYoshi398's talk page (now his first archive). YY admits to even being annoyed at all the action on his page, and it certainly did well to bring him out of his shell as he became a Cheese Lover. After labeling himself as resigned from the Cheese Lovers for some time, YY continues to be a Cheese Lover.

Though openly resigning from the Cheese Lovers only recently, YellowYoshi398 was able to control his liking of cheese as the Craze basically ended. Trying to make helpful edits, YY kept up well and was eventually made a Patroller by Wayoshi. As he used his powers and continued to make good edits, he was promoted to Sysop by Steve himself on the night of the second Anniversary of the MarioWiki's creation.

YellowYoshi398 continues to be active on the Super Mario Wiki, trying to make helpful edits, be kind, and use his Sysop powers to the best of his ability. Though the dominant school and other things have caused YY to become somewhat scarce on the MarioWiki at times, he continues to be active today (after only recently returning from a break spanning nearly all of December 2007) and does not plan to leave anytime soon. Throughout his rather long wiki life, he's matured, made friends, lost some, made mistakes, and experienced being part of an ever-changing culture. He enjoys the Super Mario Wiki.
More recently, YellowYoshi398, showing himself to be an adept dimensional researcher heading an as-of-yet unnamed scientific institute, accidentally led the project which opened the dimensional rift that unleashed Chaozarro, Superchao's Dark User. He eventually fell into a slump of inactivity. When Hemu stated that he is fit to hold the title of YY, but YY has stated that since he is disappearing, and once he becomes old and gray, YellowYoshi127 will take up the mantle.
Personality
YY is typically considered one of the Wiki's nicer and more submissive Users, though he is not perfect. He tends to be fairly serious on the wiki (save for when he talks to his friends and others), though he has revealed a more spontaneous part of his personality elsewhere, such as in the Chatroom and Forum.
Physical Appearance
YellowYoshi398 is in many ways identical to a Yellow Yoshi, his rectangular glasses being the most notable difference. His eyes are also blue, as are his scales and saddle. His shoes are nowadays most often shown as the now-standard green, though they are sometimes brown; YY398's explanation for this is that he owns multiple pairs of shoes, not all alike.
Trivia
- YellowYoshi398 has the same join date as RoflWafls. RW is the older of the two by around four hours.
- YY's fan character's glasses are designed after his own first pair of glasses in RL, also black and rectangular; interestingly, he did not wear glasses when he first joined the wiki, but it would be weeks after starting to wear them that he created his fan character. Also of note is that, in RL, YY's vision has worsened and he has chosen more circular glasses with frames that cover only the top of each lens for his new prescription, but his sprites and character will not be changed.

X: How did you find this wiki?
YY398: I believe I first stumbled upon it through a link from Wikipedia; one of those "Luigi's page at the Super Mario Wiki" links at the end of pages.
X: What’s your favorite article?
YY398: I don't know... I like almost everything in Category:Implied, especially if the article's nice and bulky. I suppose I don't really have a favorite... I really like Hammer Bro., for one, though. Not that it's in the implied category.
X: Is there a memory here that sticks out among the rest?
YY398: Definitely when Tonya Logan attacked, and how we all fought her... I loved that.
X: What’s your favorite type of cheese?
YY398: Haha. Probably American... but pepper jack is good, too, especially since everyone seems to hate it.
X: What’s your favorite article to edit?
YY398: That's a toughie... I used to edit Hammer Bro. a lot (usually adding to its History section), but I've kinda left it and it's been doing good without me. I don't really have a favorite article to edit; I just try to do my best with making edits all around.
X: What was your first article you created?

X: Who’s your favorite Marioverse character?
YY398: Yoshi... or Yellow Yoshi. I've honestly never even THOUGHT of dividing the two among my favorite characters.

YY398: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and I mean the original.
X: What's your least favorite game?
YY398: That's pretty hard... If you're talking Mario, I found Yoshi's Cookie to be rather unsatisfying. I doubt that's my least favorite game of all time, but I don't buy many bad games... so I can't really think of anything else...
X: What are your favorite two foods?
YY398: Cheese and chili dogs.
